Wineries in Hermanus and vicinity
Long considered a top wine producing area due to its cool maritime influence, the Walker Bay Wine Ward was reclassified as a Wine District in May 2004. The producers are found in the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (Heaven and Earth) and at its closest point is just 1.5km from Walker Bay with its cold Benguela.
Driving from Hermanus one follows the scenic route (R320) through the valley, with the closest vineyard about 2 km from the turn-off and the furthest ending 18.2 km from the turn-off.
